Hm. From strongest to weakest: Intrapersonal, Linguistics, Logical, Interpersonal, Musical, Kinaesthetic, Naturalistic, Visual/Spatial.
So it’s that time of the year where we answer forty questions to determine very simply, what we’re good at and what we’re not, or at least according to the test. I do comprehend the importance to know your strengths and weaknesses. But do I think that this test is in the least reliable? Maybe not utterly unreliable, but still, how accurate can a diagram that pops up after you complete 40 MCQs be?
Let's take the questions they provide to consideration. Most of them phrased rather generically, focus more on an individuals' interests rather than aptitude in a certain area and sometimes, they overlap with one another. And regarding the responses, does an increased frequency of a certain action/activity necessarily mean that you are capable in it? In the end, the quiz is comparable to that of those many personality quizzes once can find online... fun to take, but the reliability of the results? Questionable.
Wait, I'm digressing. I really shouldn't be criticizing the system. After all, are there better alternatives. It's a start... not a fantastic one, but still a start and an initial indicator.
So anyway, tackling my very own pie graph... Last time I took it, Linguistics came out tops, followed by Intrapersonal. Here, they're still the top two and differing by a small margin. Not surprising at all. I guess I do identify these to be aspects I'm strong in. I mean, I certainly have to capability to rant/ramble or to put it nicely, (no matter how overrated this words is) reflect on random observations 'bout society's inner workings, (or about random things in general), form my opinions on these issues (and boy, do I have strong feelings about certain issues), then communicate them with some degree of fluency. This was always something I never found difficult to do (I'm just lazy when it comes to maintaining a blog).
Ouch. My er... "Nature Savvy-ness" sure took a plunge. It was third last year. Though I think this placement is more accurate. I've never been deeply in touch with my naturalistic side. But still, I don't mind sitting beside/under a tree and running my fingers across the rough bark and taking the time to observe the lesser yet uncannily ...beautiful (for the lack of a better term) species of God's the green Earth. And even better, taking out a notebook after gathering some inspiration from the surroundings and just write. Let it flow.
Ah well. Once again, this is merely an initial indicator... Who knows how my diagram will look like in the future (though hopefully by then, this quiz will have already been replaced).
