"The lyrics roll off our tongues like poison as we scream together, jump together, live together."
No, this post is not about music.
(Which reminds me, I need to tend to my neglected music collection.)
This post is about words (once again).
(Y'know, maybe I should get a proper theme for this blog. No prizes for guessing what it may be.)
I love Daily Lit Deviations.
Checking it out has become a daily routine for me.
I love the familiar insignia, coupled with the fanciful lettering that greets me as I return to an oh-so-familiar web page, and I promptly click the link leading me to the "Pick of the Day".
And when it's done loading, I engage in the guilty pleasure of reciting the entire story or poem to myself, sentence for sentence, word for word. Sometimes, I encounter sentences or phrases that I just want to let them roll of my tongue. Sentences so brilliantly crafted that you can't help but take the time to savour it over and over again.
These are the kind of sentences that are ever-so-quotable, the ones that people use as their Facebook statuses, or display messages.
These are the kind of sentences then once read out loud, leave a lingering aftertaste on your tongue, make you crave for more.
These are the kind of sentences that awaken and arouse the green-eyed abomination lurking in merely budding writers.
These are the kind of sentences (as cheesy as this sounds) I detest parting with.
(But obviously, I have to. Or I won't ever finish the story and get back to my bleedin' schoolwork.)
